Trade Mission strengthens maritime ties with Singapore
From March 23 to 28 2025, Rotterdam Partners co-led a Dutch delegation of start-ups and scale-ups for a Trade Mission to Singapore, exploring smart & sustainable shipping opportunities in one of the world’s leading maritime hubs.
Strengthening Dutch-Singaporean maritime collaboration
Rotterdam Vice-Mayor Robert Simons led a strategic maritime trade mission to Singapore, connecting Dutch innovators with key industry stakeholders in Asia. Organized by Rotterdam Partners, InnovationQuarter, and the Municipality of Rotterdam, the delegation of start-ups and scale-ups showcased advanced and cutting-edge solutions designed to enhance efficiency and sustainability in maritime trade, paving the way for new business opportunities and partnerships.

Key highlights from the mission
- Dutch maritime value chain driving innovation & sustainability: This dedicated session at Sea Asia allowed participating companies to pitch their innovative solutions and strengthen business ties with Singaporean counterparts.
- Networking opportunities: Dutch delegation took part in high-impact networking events, fostering valuable connections between Dutch and Singaporean businesses.
- Industry insights: Meetings with key maritime stakeholders provided firsthand knowledge of Singapore’s maritime advancements, including digitalization, green technologies, and autonomous shipping solutions.

Mission impressions
During Singapore Maritime Week and Sea Asia 2025, two key industry events aligned with the trade mission, the Dutch delegation engaged with Singapore’s thriving maritime ecosystem connecting with industry leaders, exploring innovations, and strengthening business ties between the Netherlands and Singapore.
Innovation and sustainability were central to the mission, as Dutch entrepreneurs showcased solutions and explored collaboration opportunities in Singapore’s maritime sector. The program facilitated knowledge exchange and business development, with highlights including meetings with PIER71™, PSA Singapore, the Singapore Shipping Association, and the Global Centre for Maritime Decarbonisation. A visit to Rotterdam-based bunkering company Advario reinforced both regions' shared commitment to greener shipping.
